My name is Amal. I have a true passion for working with the youngest learners. I came to Arcadia community Church with an extensive background working with children in both school and church settings. I served in the Children’s Ministry in Egypt for 20 years, where I also earned my BA in Accounting, I worked as staff with the Cru in Alexandria Egypt for 12 years. prior to moving to the United States.
I got a master teacher Credential for Child Development at Pasadena City College, I served on the staff of Lake Ave Church Preschool, as a teacher, until the school closed on March 2020. Prior to becoming a full-time preschool teacher, I served for 13 years at Lake Avenue Church in their Children’s Ministries, and I continued to volunteer with VBS leading mission classes. I also volunteer at La Canada Presbyterian church. I also like attending workshops and gaining more education in Child Development.
I studied 2 years [2009-2010] Children counselling and Psychology at school from Netherlands.
I take workshop on 2023 about: How to help children going through trauma!
I served on the staff of Pasadena Christian School as a teacher since July 2021. I’m happily married, since September of 1994, to Reverend Raafat Aboelfarag, who is a missionary among refugees in Los Angeles. We have one son, and his name is Raffy who is studying at Pasadena City College and continuing at Christian college next fall.
When I’m not at preschool, I enjoy reading, walking in nature, and beach. Also, I watch movies with my family and cook. I love flowers. My favorite colors are red and green.
