Special Service for Wholeness

Pastor John concludes his series of messages on "Purposeful Suffering" with a service of prayer and anointing of oil. If you have suffered in any aspect of your life; physically, mentally, socially, or spiritually don't miss this opportunity to have the Elders prayer over you and to be anointed with oil in the Sunday March 26 worship service. After the message on Sunday morning, Pastor John will invite all those who are seeking prayer and healing to come forward. He will anoint you with oil by placing the sign on of the cross lightly with oil on your forehead. After which the Elders will pray for you.

The anointing of oil, which has been done since Old Testament times, and throughout the history of the Christian Church, is a act of symbolism that sets an individual apart for a blessing from God. It is also in obedience to scripture which says, in James 5:14,15, "Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him."
